Welcome to the website of the International Research Centre on Disaster Prevention (IRCDIP), Universiti Teknologi MARA.
Please browse around to view the information available. As you begin to use the website, this could be a good platform to disseminate any information related to landslides. This website highlights all the past, current and future information regarding the centre. Research and consultancy are the core activities of IRCDIP. We invite you to know more about International Research Centre on Disaster Prevention (IRCDIP) and to get involve in our courses such as Basic Course in Soil Conservation for students which usually held in every semester break. IRCDIP encourages students from other background to enter the course and civil engineering students from branch campuses to participate. In addition, we also offered advanced courses to those working in this field either from government or private sector. We encourage you to make use of the research outcomes and to take advantage of the great opportunities which IRCDIP offers for networking with others in the field of Landslide and other natural disaster such as sinkhole and flooding. TRANSFOMASI NASEC ke IRCDIP
Penubuhan NASEC telah diluluskan oleh Jawatankuasa Eksekutif UiTM pada 5 September 2001 dan mula beroperasi pada 1 Januari 2002 selama enam tahun sehingga 31 Disember 2007. Tanggal 1 Januari 2008, NASEC telah diberi taraf sebagai pusat kecemerlangan oleh Jawatankuasa Eksekutif UiTM dan kini dikenali sebagai PUSAT PENYELIDIKAN PENCEGAHAN BENCANA ANTARABANGSA (IRCDIP)
Penukaran nama pusat ini merupakan satu penghormatan dan pengiktirafan tertinggi UiTM terhadap kemampuan dan kecemerlangan yang ditunjukkan oleh pusat sama ada di dalam negara mahupun diperingkat antarabangsa.
Kini bentuk yang melambangkan 6 bilah yang terdapat pada logo korporat asalnya kini mencerminkan 6 jenis bencana alam yang menjadi fokus penyelidikan di IRCDIP iaitu tanah runtuh, lubang benam, gempa bumi, tsunami, banjir dan juga ribut.
Pusat ini diterajui oleh Profesor Dr. Roslan Zainal Abidin selaku Pengarah, juga pencipta yang berjaya mencipta Skala “ROM”, Indeks “ROSE”, Klasifikasi “RIM”, Nombor “ROSJAN” dan Carta ’RS’. Ciptaan ini telah berjaya memenangi pelbagai anugerah rekacipta dan inovasi di persada Negara dan Antarabangsa.
Bermula dengan titik tolak itu, pusat kecemerlangan yang menjadi kebanggaan UiTM ini telah mencipta dan menghasilkan ciptaan-ciptaan baru setiap tahun yang mampu meraih pelbagai anugerah dan pengiktirafan samada di peringkat kebangsaan mahupun antarabangsa.
